A survey for satellites of Venus

چکیده
We present a systematic survey for satellites of Venus using the BaadeMagellan 6.5 meter telescope and IMACS wide-field CCD imager at Las Campanas observatory in Chile. In the outer portions of the Hill sphere the search was sensitive to a limiting red magnitude of about 20.4, which corresponds to satellites with radii of a few hundred meters when assuming an albedo of 0.1. In the very inner portions of the Hill sphere scattered light from Venus limited the detection to satellites of about a kilometer or larger. Although several main belt asteroids were found, no satellites (moons) of Venus were detected. Subject headings: Venus; Satellites,General; Irregular Satellites; Planetary Formation

A survey: Glucose sedative effect in neonates during Venus blood sampling
Background: The number of invasive procedures performed in newborns admitted in neonatal units is very high. Nonpharmacologic interventions are valuable alternatives for pain relief during minor procedures in neonates. The aim of this study was to assess the analgesic effect of orally administered glucose with different concentration in neonate using a validated behavioral acute pain rating sca...
متن کاملAsteroids in the Inner Solar System II – Observable Properties
This paper presents synthetic observations of long-lived, coorbiting asteroids of Mercury, Venus, the Earth and Mars. Our sample is constructed by taking the limiting semimajor axes, differential longitudes and inclinations for long-lived stability provided by simulations. The intervals are randomly populated with values to create initial conditions. These orbits are re-simulated to check that ...
متن کاملA Solar System Survey of Forced Librations
Introduction: Physical librations in longitude are forced periodic variations of a body’s rotation rate. If the torque producing the librations can be calculated, then observations of the phase and amplitude of librations can provide information on mass distribution, and effective strength of the body. In the near future prospects for observing physical librations look quite promising. Radio in...

The initial application of VPE is visualization of the surface of Mars. The data used in our . W geometric model has been measured, not synthesized, and it represents the entire surface of the planet e use digital terrain data derived from images that were transmitted from NASA’s Viking orbiter t satellites and processed by the U. S. Geological Survey. VPE can also be operated with any other di...
